vacation, part I

we survived a lovely vacation (minus about three days when beanzilla manifested and we spent 150 bucks to take her to the doctor because we thought something was seriously wrong. thankfully not, but we were very close to spanking her. thankfully not also.) anyway, for now, just some photos of me with the bean with minimal commentary. more photos to come...because, dang it, it was so awesome and you need to "experience" it in small doses.

our first full day of exploring...we wound up at rock creek lake and hiked around the lake. we are wussy hikers; no huge backpacks and hiking shoes. hand sewn mai tais for us. city folk. but isn't she cute?!

the back of our "rustic" lodge (pictures to follow), just because. just because i couldn't resist buying her some cammo pants, and then just because i couldn't resist her huge diaper butt in them. (if you know, i HATE hunting cammo worn as real clothing...mostly seen in the midwest. these, you might notice, resemble army cammo. THAT is completely acceptable.)


atop mammoth mountain, elevation 11,000 feet. it was wonderful.


those two mini dots in the front are me and the bean, freezing our buns in june lake. this lake was incredible...clear, blue, tree-lined. perfect for a swim.
