ok, i know that i would not EVER resort to teenage cellphone shorthand, but i must. as you may know, our house sits atop the biggest ant metropolis ever, so we are constantly battling either a huge emigration or a tiny trickle inside our house. so tonight as i madly ripped the bean's sheets off her bed, i noticed more than ants.....yes, OMG (actually it was more like, "OM F-ing G!" i know, not very pastor's wife-like of me, especially in front of the bean, but...) there were bed bugs. and i nearly screamed in frustration, disgust and horror. sheer horror.
so, i ripped and ripped all types of bedding off her crib and threw it into the very hot wash. vacuumed the room, put new clean sheets on and left her without a blanket and bumper pad. and now i leave you in sheer horror with a question:
do i just throw the bumper pad away? i think that's where they've been hiding. my inclination is to do this, but could i sufficiently kill them off at the dry cleaners??? i think i need to just toss it. it's made with upholstery foam and can't go in the washing machine....grrr. i feel like such an awful mother. i'm sure, also, that i if i mention it to the husband (which i will) that he will be in favor of tossing, and will, perhaps, think that i personally invited them in to stay forever in the bean's crib. geez.
so, please leave a comment...no phone calls (mom) because i will be way too busy these next few days.
