dating myself

aka: "from bad to worse", or "why i hesitate", or "sorry, becki, i had to use ones with you in them".

either way, here are some photos of me chronicling my bangs disasters (thankfully, i really had no say in these decisions so i can't blame myself. i think, however, that i can easily blame my hairdresser uncle.)

please also enjoy my reminiscing commentary...perhaps these may make my friend, jennn's, blog, things that amuse me. they surely amuse ME.

here is the "china doll bowl look". believe it or not, there is probably a really long, curly pony tail behind these hideous bangs. but don't we look cute!?

i think this is the first bang haircut. you wouldn't know this, but i am straining to smile. i think there is another photo of my looking completely dismayed. i did NOT like my newly cut feathered bangs. i remember this. also, word to the wise: bangs do not start in the middle of your head.

trying to live with bangs. this photo isn't that bad. i'm still cute (remember...from bad to worse...just wait.)

no comment here, just a gratuitous "double portrait" school photo. added bonus: really awful 80s sweater.

this is proof of my uncle's handiwork. my mom, to this day, claims he is the best haircutter. i question this. seriously, look at the curly taking over. i'm about to fly away. can you tell it's getting worse???

i'm starting to question my bangs...perhaps it was more of a mullet. yikes. nice work uncle eddie.

welcome to the "worse" stage. these are really grown out and shaggy. i am very shaggy too in my catholic school uniform. fat also. this is before i got my act together and started reading seventeen magazine. i love, however, that this is a polaroid photo.

having gotten my act together, closely observing middle school style, i mastered the vertical bangs. the husband, last night, gasped in shock. yes. i know. and, really, i don't think i'd have a clue how to do this right now.

what's funny about this is that about a year later i got a spiral perm. like i actually needed one. i think i forgot that i have curly hair. THAT photo is for another post all together.
